Hull City Relegated Following Defeat To Crystal Palace
Hull City have been relegated from the premier league after a 4-0 defeat to Crystal Palace which in turn confirmed crystal Palace stay in top flight for next season.
Wilfried Zaha opened the scoring in the 3rd minute, Christian Benteke added the second in the 34th minute to make it his sixth goal in nine games with the Tigers being incensed Zaha was not penalised for handball in the build-up to the second goal as well as also being denied a penalty for Jason Puncheon’s clear handball. Luka Milivojevic added the third from the penalty spot with Patrick van Aanholt’s late strike settling the contest.
Hull join Sunderland and Middlesbrough as the three relegated teams.
Sam Allardyce’s record of never being relegated from the top-flight remain intact and that was Crystal Palace’s joint-biggest winning margin in Premier League history (also 5-1 v Newcastle in Nov 2015).
It remains to be seen if any of the three relegated teams will get promoted back to the premier league next season.
